You are a singer songwriter and you want people listen to your music, love you as an artist, buy your music. You want to have fans. What does mean to have ” fans” nowadays ?. What does mean the word ” Fan”? . According to wikipedia there is different types of ” Fan”, for the celebrities such as singers :These fans will often hold a crush on a major film or TV star, singer, athlete or celebrity see This can range from a simple crush to the deluded belief that they have a “connection” with the star (or even that they “are” the star). In extreme cases, this can lead to Celebrity Worship Syndrome or stalking behavior or even violent attacks or becomes a hater against the celebrity that they once loved.
Let’s stay positive and talk about the fan that you want , the one who will buy your music all the time. How make sure you have fans and how it works ?. Someone becomes your fan because he or she loves your music, your personality , the way you get dressed (your image, your look), how you think about particular life topic, the character you portrait. The lyrics of your songs.
Nowadays people love more the personality of a singer then the music itself, so you have to make sure that your music follow your personality or your personality follow your music. When you look at an example like ”Lady gaga”, fashion is really mportant in her personality , her music express her name (lady gaga) , Gaga expresses the feeling to be out the normality, to be crazy, to do things not like everyone. People recognize them in her and then adopt her style. Example.
”Lady gaga” is a Phenomenon with her fashion style first then with her lyric and music. It is all a process and everything must be coordinated, music can not be without lyric, style and image can not be without music and lyric.
People like what make them dream or coming out from their everyday life, their real life. Nowadays people are stressed, there is financial recession, unemployment, insecurity in the future, Young teenagers and even adult want to escape to this reality and the artist is there to make live and see something else. When someone spend money to buy a ticket to go to your concert, tour, or to see you in live performance you must have something special to attract their attention:
Your fans must recognise themselves in who you are, Lady gaga first target market are the gay market so everything she does is to attract their attention (image, music ect..). It’s your turn to work on your artist profile to find a way to attract the attention of the crowd they must say WOW when they listen your music and see your live performance and your music videos.
If you have fans you attract business other source of revenue for you as Artist such as advertisers such as Cheryl Cole “The ‘Cheryl Cole’ effect” Take Cheryl Cole for example, she’s painting the town red! Sales of mahogany hair dye have leapt.Superdrug say they’re selling double the usual amount of dye, and the shade Cheryl uses was selling at a rate of one per minute when she first took the plunge”
But you are not there yet, learn to have an impact on people to convert them in fans and then in buyers of your music. Create a movement that make people follow you and adopt you like their own friend, lover and more. Make people Worship you like a God (sorry for the christian believer) but like someone they can not stay without, someone who is part of their everyday life and create music, lyrics that they can not forget and talk to them. Use efficient promotions tools to spread the message the most powerful one is the media TV, some like Internet and many more are very powerful too. Find the best way to make people keep contact with you and what you do. To create a very strong and stable fanbase you must all the time follow what is happening in the society and know your fans like they are part of your own family and be part of what they do and believe. Be a marketing guru of your fans.
Now tell me why do you think you do not have enough fans and if they are loyal to you or not and why do you think they are not? Tell me more about you :
